I'm pretty sure most of these have likely been done already by others (#9 was inspired recently by the Big Beach Banana), yet I think I've come up with a couple originals. :)

Each diagram represents a common phrase, place or thing.

First and foremost
Damn you, Harry! I was still typing! ?
First and foremost (first &, 4 most)

I think #9 may be something like:
Apartments to Let (or Apartments Under Let?)
but I'm not entirely happy that the first is a satisfactory answer or that my alternative is an accepatable (well-known) "phrase"!

I have also posted a bit of a 'brain teaser' in a new thread,
here, have a look at that too if you like these kind of puzzles. ??

Afternoon nap
not sure about this one either

All of the posted answers are on track, so far. :)

Dr. Peterson's #4 matches mine, and his #7 is only a verb conjugation away from mine.

Kudos to The Highlander for #5 (and that second #9 is very close to mine).

AvgStudent's #1 matches mine, as does Harry the cat's #8.

When you over spend ???
Two apartments to let

I like your #2. My #2 is one word.

My #9 is two words. The first word indicates that 'apartments' is below 'let'.

Hints for #3 and #6:

Both answers are two words.

"New" is not one of the words, in #3.

The second word is plural, in #6.

Forgot #2.

Answer is one word

It contains the sounds of words shown.
