A pulse waveform with a frequency of \(\displaystyle 20 \ \text{kHz}\) is applied to the input of a counter. During \(\displaystyle 40 \ \text{ms}\), how many pulses are counted?

The first thing that we need to do is to find the pulse period. From basic periodic functions, we know that the period is:

\(\displaystyle T = \frac{1}{f}\)

Then, the pulse period is:

\(\displaystyle T = \frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{20000} = 0.00005 \ \text{s}\)
