"Products" Math Problem

No, you are NOT told that 5*r =g. Where does it say that? It says that (5*r)*g=g. 5r is unknown, but we know that when we multiple it by g we get g. Well what do you multiply g by to get g? The answer to that question is what 5r must equal.
How do I find r then?

The unknown number is 5r?
I don't think that you are thinking about this clearly.
Please tell be what goes into each empty parenthesis.
( )*7=7
( )* 9 =9
( )* 2/3 = 2/3
( )*(-9) = -9

After answering does questions can you please tell me what goes into these parenthesis? ( )*g = g

Now if (5r)*g = g what must 5r equal?

Ok, so now you have it (although I would have said that r=1/5)
Do you have a similar problem to try? Doing examples is very helpful.
I read through the entire thread numerous times again to show all of my work on one sheet of paper. I understand how to do it now. Showing everything on paper is easier to learn than figuring out sections of the math problem one at a time online, so I guess that's why my brain wasn't thinking so clearly at first. But anyways, thank you.
