I am trying to solve this youtube problem by using 4 simultanous equations to find the 4 areas being divided up inside the big square. However, it seems like I am not able to get discrete solutions to the 4 simultanous equations.
Here's my 4 equations:
d+c =r^2/4
d+b= r^2-(pi)r^2/8
a+b=r^2-(pi)r^2/4
a+c=(pi)r^2/8
obviously a+b+C+d = r^2
Anyone thinks it's possible to solve this problem with simultanous equations so you don't have to use calculus or trig?
