Zooming in?

In my precalculus class we have to make a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet shows the volume of a box with different cut sizes. My teacher wants us to "zoom in" on the spreadsheet. In other words, he wants us to show the volume of the box in increments of 1, 0.1, and 0.01. I cannot figure out how to change the increments on a spreadsheet. So, far I just have the height, length, width, and volume of the box in increments of 1. Hopefully, somebody here might know what I'm talking about and can help me.

How did you set the increment to 1? Do the same thing with the smaller sizes.

I found the volumes by hand for increments of one. I just copied that information into the spreadsheet.

I think the point of using the spreadsheet is that you can enter formulas and have the spreadsheet do the calculations. Otherwise, you might as well just write a pencil-and-paper table.

It sounds as though you missed the classes when they covered how to enter information into a spreadsheet and how to create functions, etc. Unfortunately, we cannot replace those hours of instruction (even if we offered software support). Please consider finding a competent friend, hiring a qualified tutor, or buying an appropriate text to learn how to use your software package. (I have found "Dummies" type books to be helpful. Your local library might have just what you need.)

Good luck!

Eliz.
