Write an equation in standard form of the line that passes through (1.1) and (9,7).

I'm assuming that (1.1) is meant to be (1,1) before I start to explain this.

First you have to assume that (1,1) is (x1,y1) and (9,7) is (x2,y2).

You can use this to work out the slope, m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = (7-1)/(9-1) = 6/8 = 3/4.

Now the point slope form of a linear equation is:

y-y1 = m(x-x1),

now substituting in,

y-1 = 3/4(x-1).

Hope this helps.
