You do not have a question in your post!!!Is x= -5 the answer?

Write the equation of the line through the point (-7,-9) that are parallel and perpendicular to y = -12. SorryYou do not have a question in your post!!!
Sorry again the point is not (-7,-9) it is actually (2,-5)Write the equation of the line through the point (-7,-9) that are parallel and perpendicular to y = -12. Sorry

No line can be both parallel and perpendicular to another line.Sorry again the point is not (-7,-9) it is actually (2,-5)

I am just so clusmly sometimes my badWhy don't you throw your LGMS210 out the window
My friend gave me that number(dunno how he got it) I am thinking the same thing? No line can be both parallel and perpendicular to another line.
Please explain how to get the answer, I am just so confused. Truth is my classmate gave me x=5 but I don't know how he got it.I think the problem is actually this, so we're all on the same page:
Write the equations of the lines through the point (2, -5) that are parallel and perpendicular to y = -12?
So we want two equations. I would start by asking, in what direction does the line y = -12 go? Then, in what direction is a line that is parallel to it? How about a line perpendicular to it?
Then we can consider slopes (where relevant), and equations.
Your first answer was partly correct, now that we know the question! You just have to give two answers, and identify which is which.
I'll agree with that!No line can be both parallel and perpendicular to another line.
Can you draw y= -12? Do that 1st and then we'll proceed. The LINE y=-12 is the collection of all points whose y value = -12Please explain how to get the answer, I am just so confused. Truth is my classmate gave me x=5 but I don't know how he got it.

I have no work, hey thanks for the effort you guys are so charitable. I'll ask my teach er.Happiness
We truly want to help. But you need to pose your questions carefully (tapatalk seems to be a disaster). You also need to try to answer the questions given to you by the tutors. Telling us you are confused does not help us figure out where and why you are confused. Answer the questions we ask so that we can tell where you need help.
