Well the equation is:
y=mx+b
m= slope
b=y intercept
The y intercept in this problem is -1 so right now you have:
y=mx-1
ok so now you have to check the slope. so you see those 2 dots? go straight down the first dot until the -7 and then to the right 3 and you will meet with the bottom right red dot.
ok so now you will get from the first dot(-1) until the -7 is -6 since you are going down 6. Then from the -7 to the right it is 3 spaces. So you found the slope
the slope is what you got for going down and to the right! (in this case you got -6/3 and that can be simplified to -2/1 which is also -2 as a whole number)
NOW YOU HAVE THE ANSWER
y=-2x-1
