(-2,-7); m= -3/2
I need to write the equation in point- slope form

this is what I do y-y1= m(x-x1) - this is the formula and I need help to mutiply -3/2*x and -3/2 *-2

You do not want to multiply anything!

You correctly typed the Point-Slope Form of an equation for a line.

If they want Point-Slope Form, then just replace y[sub:17w3irkt]1[/sub:17w3irkt] with the given value, replace x[sub:17w3irkt]1[/sub:17w3irkt] with the given value, and replace m with the given value.

That's all there is to it.

I'll do another problem for you

(-5,-8); m= -1/2

The equation of a line with slope m and passing through point (x[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4],y[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4]) is:

y - y[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4] = m*(x - x[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4])

in our problem

x[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4] = -5

y[sub:32ck6jv4]1[/sub:32ck6jv4] = -8

m = -1/2

so - the equation becomes:

y + 8 = -(1/2) * (x + 5) <<< this is point-slope form
