Write an equation in slope intercept form for the line with the given condition that contains the point (-6, 5)

Parallel to the line x+2y=6

Perpendicular to the line 3x-4y=-8

Again.. I'm lost...

The first one works just like the other one you posted: parallel lines have the same slope.

The second one uses the other rule you were given: perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes.

Since the lesson link on lines, provided earlier in your other thread, seems to have left you still completely at loose ends (as did, apparently, that entire previous thread), try some of the other lessons available online:

. . . . .Google results for "slope parallel perpendicular"

. . . . .Google results for "straight line equation"

Once you have studied some lessons (at least two from each listing!) and learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercise. Then, if you get stuck, you will at least know enough to be able to show your work and reasoning, and we'll be able to try to help you get un-stuck! :D
