Hose 1 can fill a bottle in 5 mins. Hose 2 can fill the same bottle in 7 mins. Hose 1 pours liquid in for 2 minutes, then Hose 2 begins to also pour water into the bottle.
3 mins after Hose 1 started filling the bottle, the bottle springs a leak. 4 mins after Hose 1 started pouring liquid, the bottle is filled and the hoses stop pouring.
In how many minutes will the leak fully drain the bottle?

If you can solve this you get a cookie?.

The key to work problems is rate. In this case it's various bottles per min rates - 1st hose, 2nd hose, both hoses, the leak. Use hose rates to set up an equation to find the leak rate, then calculate the time in question.
And no, we get a cookie if you solve it after getting help.

No, no! lev888 is wrong. I solved the problem and I want my cookie!
