A phone company charges 11.25 for monthly fee it also charges 0.03 per minute for in state calls and 0.09 for out of state calls what is the total charge for a customer who made 470 in in state calls and 91 minutes in out of state

Forget this is a maths question.

Assuming these figures are for one month:

Imagine this is YOUR phone and YOUR phone company sent you a bill for $100. Would YOU pay it or question it?

You made in state calls for 470 min and are charged 0.03 per minute. How much is that?

You made out of state calls for 91 minutes and are charged 0.09 per minute. How much is that?

Add those and the 11.25 monthly fee.

You have to pay 3 cents 470 times, 9 cents 91 times and $11.25 1 time. Just add up these numbers!

So he has to add a total of 562 numbers? OMG!
Hopefully the OP will realize that it would be easier to multiply and add instead of just adding. I was just pointing out that the problem should be doable for anyone.

0.03 times 470 and do 0.09 times 91 and once you have those 2 numbers add them together then add that number to 11.25.
