Word Problem Please Help with an answer ASAP!

A crowwbar 24 inches long is povoted 8 inches from end. What force must be applied at the long end in order to lift 500 lbs. object at the short end. I can up with the formula of (16 inches)(X lbs) = (8 inches)(500 lbs) and can up the the answer of x = 250 Is this correct?
