Randy makes a formula that is 75% alcohol based. Doug makes a formula that is 40% alcohol based. How much of each formula should be mixed to produce 1 liter of 60% alcohol based formula?

(.75)x+.40(1-x)=.60(1)
.75x+.40-.40x=60
35x/35=20/35

??????????
x=20/35 ????????
???????

Is this the correct answer? :?

Looks good. This can be reduced to x = 4/7. This means that 4/7 of a liter is the amount of 75% solution you would use.
