Shopko and Wal-Mart are both offering huge savings on digital toasters.
Shopko’s Ad reads, “30% less than the K-Mart Price!!”
Wal-Mart advertises, “You’d Pay 35% more at K-Mart!!”
Which store is offering the better price and by how much?





I out in that Kmart sells the toasters for $50 so I had an amount to compare. So I came up with Shopko sells them for $35 and Walmart sells them for $32.50. But Walmart wouldn't sell them for $32.50 my professor said so I am lost. Please help

suppose Walmart sells for W dollars. Than

(1 + 35%)*W = 50

Solve for W

It seems that way to me because Shopko's price is $35 and Walmarts is $37.03
