In the team sport called Shuttle, there are three ways to score points. A troi is worth 13 points, a gorn is worth 10 points, and a crusher is worth 6 points. What number represents the largest score that cannot be made in this game?

I was able to find out online that you need to find the multiples of 6,10,13,16,19, and 23. But I am unsure why I was supposed to cross off the multiples of 16,19 and 23. But I figured out the answer is 199, I just need to explain how I came up with this. Please help.

So you - yourself did not do anything about the problem - other than hunting around in the internet.

Please show us your work, indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we may know where to begin to help you.

I crossed out the multiples of each number myself, but correct I searched the internet to find out how to do this problem. Because I was unsure how to.

Did you understand - why you are making a list of multiples of those numbers (6, 10, etc.)?

well the 6, 10 and 13 i would be crossing out because they are possiable scores. but i dont understand why i would do the other three that i found that it said to cross out. I also dont understand why I am to stop at 200, because the number can really keep going as high as yeah? Im not sure

What level of Mathematics are you doing? - or is it a puzzle (game) question?

The reason I asked you about level, was to figure out for me a way" to give an answer that would make sense to you.

First of all - if you are seeking for a number that cannot be scored - then 199 is not correct. 199 can be scored -

199 = 6 * 31 + 13 (31 scores of '6' and one score of '13')

Highest number that I find - that cannot be scored - is 27.

You can show that 28, 29, 30, 31,32 and 33 can be scored. These are 6 consecutive number. Any number higher than 33 can be acheived by adding multiples of '6' to these numbers (for example 199 = 28*6+31).
