This is my problem:

If Bob has $15 more than Mary and Bill lost 50 cents in the candy machine, how much money did April have before Joe borrowed $11 for a pizza? (think of restrictions on answer)

Does this actually have an answer? I would think their is no real solution to this problem. Is this just a brain teaser? Nothing goes with anything. :?

You're right: this has no solution. There is no possible way of knowing how much money April had. Sounds like one of those silly algebra mock-jokes. All we really know is that Bob $15 or more, and poor Bill is 50 cents poorer.

it does have an "answer", or rather a solution set ... April had > $11, if Joe borrowed the pizza money from her ... and < than Oprah Winfrey spends on makeup and her personal trainer in one day.
