Marcus and Paola are reading the same book. The book is 200 pages. Marcus reads one page per minute. Paola reads 1.5 words per minute. Paola starts to read the book when Marcus is on page 65.

Make a table. Graph the information.

Who will finish reading the book first and why? Will they ever be on the same page? What is the y intercept? What is the slope?

set it up the following way:

at time = 0, Paola = 0 and Marcus = 65 <<<this would define the y-intercepts (b)

and the slopes are 1.5 for Paola and 1 for Marcus.
