im sorry i just really hate word problems

The sum of two numbers is 25 and the sum of their squares is 313. Find the numbers. (Hint:Let one of the numbers be x. Express the other number in terms of x.)

Thanks a bunch again to whoever tries!!! :D

\(\displaystyle \L
\begin{array}{l}
x + y = 25 \\
x^2 + y^2 = 313 \\
x^2 + \left( {25 - x} \right)^2 = 313 \\
\end{array}\)

Solve for x.
