The volume of a fudge tin must be 120 cubic centimeters. The tin is 7 centimeters longer than it is wide and six times longer than it is tall. Find the dimensions of the tin.
Would the equation of a tin be the same as a cylinder, if so what is that equation?
L=7(W)
H=6(L)
V=120
??? Are these correct?

I know I shouldn't be posting so many topics in one day. It's just tomorrow I have a test, and I wasn't able to ask the teacher about these. These aren't for homework, I'm doing them to see if I understand the material. And it seems thier are a few I don't seem to understand, as you can see.

Re: Word Problem: Dimensions

The tin is a rectangular box, with a height H, length L and width W;
the volume is L * W * H = 120

"The tin is 7 centimeters longer than it is wide..."
L = W + 7

"... and six times longer than it is tall."
L = 6H

Hope that helps.
