word problem 2---the ice cream problem

Hi all

I wanted to also double check with the solution and working out t the following word problem

The Sloppy Ice Cream Diary has four flavours of ice cream. How many cones can you buy that have two different flavours side by side in the cone?

My answer---6 cones (I wrote the flavours like this----F1 & F2, F1 & F3, F1 & F4, F2 & F3, F2 & F4, F3 & F4 and then counted the combinations)

Any other ways of calculating the answer?

Another way: This is a simple combination.

\(\displaystyle \dbinom{N}{k}=\dfrac{N!}{k!(N-k)!}\). In your case \(\displaystyle N=6,~~k=2\)
