David helped his father stock the pond with baby catfish and blue gill. They put in a total of 75 fish. If the number of blue gill doubled and the number of catfish tripled, there would be 175 fish in the pond. How many catfish were put in the pond?
 
g = gill, c = catfish

g + c = 75
2g + 3c = 175

Wow, that sounds like my pond. It is loaded with bluegills, but I stocked the catfish. My 7 year old nephew caught an 18 inch bass the other day. He was mighty tickled about that. :D
