Will someone who knows algebra tell me how it all works? I'm failing my math because I can't understand my teacher. I'm only requesting lessons on the basics, unless you want to teach me more. Otherwise, just tell me what the letters mean and how to do equations. Thank you.

I'm sorry, but teaching courses is beyond anything we can do within this environment. (We can help students work through specific exercises, but that's assuming that the student knows the material, at least in general.)

To obtain the sort of instruction you have requested, I would recommend that you hire a tutor, local to your area. If you meet face-to-face for a few hours a week (daily would probably be best), the tutor may be able to re-teach the material and help you get caught up.

Most effective is normally:

1) Pay close attention in class.
2) Ask questions when you don't understand.
3) Do NOT be embarrassed. Other students probably are confused, too.
4) Talk to your teacher.
5) Do you homework faithfully and think about it.
6) Relax
