Dear Sir / Madam,

Please help me to answer the following question:

Two cars, A and B, start side by side and accelerate from rest. Their velocity functions are given by v(t)=t[squared] and v(t)=t[cubed], respectively. The time is given in seconds and the velocity is given in metres per second. Which car is ahead after 1 second and by how much? When are the cars going to be side by side again and what distance will they travel until then?

displacement is the found by integrating velocity ...

\(\displaystyle \L x(1) = x(0) + \int_0^1 v(t) dt\)
