Once again i need pointing in the right direction!!!

The question is in the screenshot below... i have got 10 as an aswer but want to check... apart from 7 i have 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88 and 99 as my answers. My spidey sense is telling me there are more but i cannot work them out.

I would also like to ask if there is a more logical way than to just number crunch to work out any possible solutions ??

Thanks again.

You know there are more than your 10, because they've shown you some more. In fact, not only can you see that 7 is happyish, but so are 49 and 65 (as well as 11)! Do you see that?

I suspect that you can find most such numbers by just trying some numbers and marking off the numbers each attempt reveals (not just the one you start with -- and not only the numbers you find are happyish!). And with that experience, you may get some ideas about what to do next.

The first step to a mathematical solution is to "play" with the problem, just trying things. Sometimes that's all it takes, and that's as mathematical as you need to get.

I haven't done the whole thing yet, but there's at least one you missed.

You can either check everything you haven't said either yes or no to yet, or perhaps try working backward from known numbers to see what number they might be a difference of squares for.
