When will my candies catch up?

Hello all! First off, apologies if this is in the wrong section; I really have no idea where to post my question. Found this forum while searching Google for some math help.

Anyway, consider the following:

• I currently have in hand, 9 candies.
• I get 6 new candies every week.
• I eat 1 candy every day.

The question is, is there a point where I will run out of candies? If so, when will that be (how many days from now)?

I think the problem is worded badly as it does not say when you get 6 new candies each week. Suppose you get the 6 new candies on the 7th day of the week after you eat that day's candy.
Start with 9 candies
At the end of week 1 you have 2 candies left then you get 6 new candies so you now have 8 candies.

At the end of week 2 you have 1 candy left then you get 6 new candies so you now have 7 candies.

At the end of week 3 you ate your 7 candies and have none left.


I'm scared disagreeing with Sir Denis as he is usually correct.
