Multiply.
(5z+5x-6)(7z-4x+2)
Simplify Answer.

Do i just multiply the like terms together(ex 1) or do i have to distribute each term to the other(ex2)?

ex1 - 35z - 20x -12

ex2 - 35z^2 - 20zx + 10z...etc..

thank you in adv

\(\displaystyle (a+b+c)(d+e+f) = ad + ae + af + bd + be + bf + cd + ce + cf\)

(5z+5x-6)(7z-4x+2) = (5z)(7z-4x+2) + (5x)(7z-4x+2) + (-6)(7z-4x+2) = (35z[sup:24whhnq9]2[/sup:24whhnq9] - 20xz + 10z) + (35xz - 20x[sup:24whhnq9]2[/sup:24whhnq9] + 10x) + (-42z + 24x - 12)

Now collect like terms and simplify....

is,
35z[sup:3m42f3db]2[/sup:3m42f3db]- 20x[sup:3m42f3db]2[/sup:3m42f3db] + 15xz - 32z +34x - 12 correct?

Looks good to me....

i got stuck on this one too....
simplify.
(w[sup:1d2tiggz]2[/sup:1d2tiggz] + 2w - 3) / (4w[sup:1d2tiggz]2[/sup:1d2tiggz] - 36)

this is what i have....
(w+3)(w-1) / (w-9)(w+9)

am i on the right track?

am i on the right track? <<< You are using correct method - but factorization is not correct.

check the factorization of the denominator.

\(\displaystyle 4w^2 \ \ - \ \ 36 \ \ = \ \ 4\cdot (w^2 \ \ - 3^2) \ \ = \ \ 4\cdot (w \ \ - \ \ 3)\cdot (w \ \ + \ \ 3)\)[/spoiler:2kls2fj6]
