I'm not sure if this goes in any specific topic, so I put it here.

What is sine? How do I find it? What is it for?

Sorry to ask so simple a question, but I can't seem to find it on the internet.

Thanks.

God bless y'all,

Um, you already found it in the link you gave. It's the second one from the top. Are you ok, Preach?

Well... that looks like for trigonometry. I'm looking for how it works in geometry, to find the sine of an angle and what to do with it when you find it. Sorry for being unclear. See this thread for how confused I get about that stuff.

If you still found it in Google, then sorry. =]

Hold on, preach, I see an advertisement for a website in your profile, and in the past, we've had some people make "meaningless" posts just to advertise their sites. Just be aware that I've noticed something"odd" here

Sorry. Heaven's Lounge got closed, so it's not an advertisement. Thanks for not jumping to conclusions. I signed up here a while ago upon the suggestion of a friend, forgetting about this site until a couple of days ago, so my profile is a little out of date. =]

Again, the link you provided already has all of that, simply look through it and you will find it.

*Sigh*. Okay. I'm sorry to bother you, I didn't mean to confuse you.

Sorry for the triple post, but I just can't seem to find what I'm asking for in there. All the symbols are unfamiliar to me, and it uses terms I've yet to cover in my geometry course.

I want to know how to find the sine of an angle. If there isn't any such thing as a sine of an angle, then I want to know if there's a simple way of saying what sine is.

I apologize for my mathematical ineptitude.

Thanks for your patience,
-The Preacher

EDIT:

Wow, I just found out that sine is a ratio. I was finally able to locate the explanation in my "textbook".

I can't believe how stupid I'm making myself sound.

Thank goodness a career as a minister won't require a math major.

Thanks again, happy,
