Weird math with no number or variables?

Hi I'm in the army and my sgt asked us to "solve this math problem on the board" I drew it. Sort of. I'm pretty sure he's just messing with us and this either isn't real math or it's some kind of joke riddle that can't be solved.... Let me know, please!

These are "logic gates". I only know this because I've seen them discussed before. I've never studied them, so I can't help you wih what is meant by "solving" this. Good luck!

Oh! I get it. I didn't know that. NAND, NOR, stuff like that.
