the hemispherical tank is full of water. Given that water weighs 62.5lb/ft^3, find the work required to pump the water out of the tank.

so the radius of the hemisphere is 5ft.

Do I use the formula for volume of sphere and divide by two? or the area of a sphere divided by 2? Can someone get me started on the problem?

Same as volumes. The only difference is in A. Instead of a constant it varies with x.
r² = 5² - x²
A = pi r² = pi(5²-x²)
The integral is 0 to 5.
