A milk carton has a volume of 200 cubic inches. The height of the carton is 3 inches more then the length of a side of the square bast. Find the dimensions of the milk carton.

So the volume is given by \(\displaystyle (x+3)x^2=200\). Note that 200 can be factored as \(\displaystyle 8 \times 5^2\).

and then you do prr's and sunthetic substitution to get (x-5) (x squred - 8x - 40) = 0
So do you factor the x squared - 8x - 40 or do quadratic formula??
