Find the volume of the solid generated by the revolution of the region bounded by
y = x 2, y = 0 x = 1, x = 8 about the line x = 1.

What does it mean about the line x = 1. Help anyone

It means that vertical line is the axis.

Sketch the region, shading it in, and draw a dotted vertical line x=1. The radius of the circle any given point (x,y) goes around will be |x-1|, the horizontal distance from the point to that line.

Show us your sketch, and we can correct anything you are doing wrong.

Instead of rotating around the y-axis (x=0), you are rotating around the line x=1.
If you really prefer not to rotate around x=1, then you can shift all functions to the left 1 unit and then rotate around the y-axis.
