Hey guys. I need to write an essay describing how to find the volume of any 2 dimensional figure translated perpendicular to a curve. I must be able to find the volume generated by translating an object over a curve. Any graphs and example would be so greatly appreciated!

Thank you exceedingly much!

For the simplest case - find the area of the curve and multiply by the length of the curve - where the curve is "gentle" so that while translating across the length the 2-D figure does not intersect its previous position.

If it does - what will be your solution?
