Please solve by using the quadratic formula

2x^2 - 8x = 3

I get 4 ± 11 √2 all over 2

Thanks you in advance

I used the Quadratic Formula
-b ± √ -b2-4ac
2

8 ± √ -8^2-4(2)(-3)
2(2)

8 ± √ 88
4

8 ± 11 √ 2
4

4 ± 11 √ 2
2
[/code]

Stacie, sqrt(88) is NOT equal to 11sqrt(2):
sqrt(88) = sqrt(4 * 22) = 2sqrt(22)

And please be clearer by posting a bit like this:
x = (-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)) / (2a)
