the question in my text book is let f(x)= (sqrtx-2)(2x+5)^-1. determine the extreme points on its graph. i dont know what the derivative would be so i can set it equal to zero and find the extreme points!!! please help!!

Edit: Don't make thigns sticky.

I have doubt that is what your textbook says. Can you provide the exact problem statement? What does this mean: sqrtx-2?

Do you mean \(\displaystyle f(x)\,=\,\frac{\sqrt{x-2}}{2x+5}\)?

If so, have you heard of the Quotient Rule? That will help you.
