HI, I'm new here. Help Please!

my problem is 9000 x 0.25 / 750,000

I have to use Scientific Notation to solve it and leave the answer in SN
I've tried it and got and answer of .003, how do I write that, if it is correct in SN?

Hi Elise,

Scientific notation is written \(\displaystyle a \times 10^n\), where \(\displaystyle 1<a<10\), and n is an integer.

\(\displaystyle \frac{9000 \times 0.25}{750000}=\frac{(9.0 \times 10^3)(2.5 \times 10^{-1})}{7.5 \times 10^5}=\frac{22.5 \times 10^2}{7.5 \times 10^5}=3 \times 10^{-3}\)

the laws of the exponents are:

x[sup:tqmicetx]n[/sup:tqmicetx]/y[sup:tqmicetx]m[/sup:tqmicetx]=(x/y)[sup:tqmicetx]n-m[/sup:tqmicetx]

(x[sup:tqmicetx]n[/sup:tqmicetx])*(y[sup:tqmicetx]m[/sup:tqmicetx])=(xy)[sup:tqmicetx]n+m[/sup:tqmicetx]

(x[sup:tqmicetx]n[/sup:tqmicetx])[sup:tqmicetx]m[/sup:tqmicetx]=x[sup:tqmicetx]n*m[/sup:tqmicetx]
