Using matrices/system of equations for area

Determine the area of the quadrilateral whose vertices are (1,3), (6,5), (9,1) and (3,-3).

I have to do this using matrices/determinants/systems of equations, how would I do this?

One could also break the quadrilateral into triangles; there is a different determinant-method for that.
