Question:Use set-builder notation to write the set of the real numbers less than 48.

This is what I found to be the answer:
Q={x|x<48}

And this is what I'm being told is the correct answer:
{x|x<48, E real numbers}

can someone just explain to me why I was wrong..or if I'm actually correct..like I think I am?

Thank you very much

The truth is: There is no correct answer. That is, notation differs from textbook to textbook and from instructor to instructor. Therefore, you must follow the textbook/instructor you have.

For me, in my class, I would say \(\displaystyle \left\{ {x \in \Re :x < 48} \right\}\) is the expected answer.
