Hello! I'm currently enrolled in Applied Calculus at a local college & we just finished our first test. The grades for the overall class weren't that great so our professor gave us a sheet of 5 problems to complete by Thursday 2/25 that we can use to replace some of the problems that we missed on the test. And I'm having a hard time with these! If anyone can help me, it will be greatly appreciated!
Here are the problems... please show all work! And if you can possibly meet me to chat live, I have Skype, AIM & Windows Live Messenger. Just send me a message and let me know! Thanks!
1. 2x^2 + 2x - 5 when x = -1/2 - (the square root of)11 over 2
^ represents a power
the square root of 11 is over 2 in fraction form
2. Simplify: 4 - (3 OVER 2 - 2 OVER 1 + x)
OVER indicates a fraction, you have a fraction in a fraction - 3 is on top of the fraction with 2 - (2 OVER 1 + x) being another fraction on the bottom
3. Factor completely: 64x^6 + (y - 2x)^3
^ represents a power
4. Evaluate: | b - 2a | - 3| a - c| ALL OVER | c - a - b | for a = -2, b = 3, c = 5
*ALL OVER represents a fraction
5. | 2x + 7 | - | 6 - 3x | = 8
I'm sorry if you can't understand what I'm asking in some of the problems, I can clarify if need be. Thanks to whoever in advance! : )
