Hello,

I am new to the help forum. I am studying Elementary Real Analysis at a State University. Would you please tell me which forum should I post my new thread in?

Also is there a place where I can test my thread so that I know it is OK for the first time, since some of the symbols I will be using come from Mathtype software?

Thank you,

Mathyes,

Advanced Math would be the correct forum.

You can and should test your threads by using the Preview Post button before using the Submit button. Editing a draft is a little confusing. You will see your post in preview but cannot edit what you first see. Scroll down to find an editable repeat of your draft post. If for some reason, you find an error after you hit Submit, there is an Edit button. Once a thread starts, however, it is very confusing to edit a post earlier in the thread.

This site supports LaTeX so you should be able to use most math symbols if you know LaTeX. To invoke LaTeX, you need to start with tex surrounded by square brackets and end with /tex enclosed in square brackets.

When you go to Advanced Math, you will see a button called Read Before Posting. Please do do so.
