Explore the two parameter family of functions y= |x-a|/ sqrt(b-(x^2))

Draw graphs for interesting values of the parameters a and b.

I have no idea how to do this problem or even understand this function..any hints? Thank you.

Well, what is it that you don't understand? Do you know what a graph is? Do you know what that "|x- a|" means? What about "sqrt(b- x^2)"?

I don't understand how to draw a graph from this and find asymptotes and such..
So, after following the instructions (that is, after picking a value for "a" and another value for "b"), you do not know how to graph what results? Is is the square-root part, the absolute-value part, the "function" part, or just graphing in general that is causing you the difficulty?

We'll be glad to try to find lesson links, so you can learn the background material necessary for getting started, but it would help if you could narrow down where you're having trouble. Thank you! ;)
