Hello. I have to problems i am stuck on. the Solutions must be answered into a webassign program that is very specific about symbols and notation. I beleive my answers are correct. looking for someone to check my notation or correct. thank you. must be set in interval notation

problem 1:
1
7
x < −1 or 2x > 0
answer 1: (-infinity,-2)U(0,infinity)

problem 2:
2
3
x > 4 or 4x < −24
answer 2:

thank you!

problem 1:
1
7
x < −1 or 2x > 0
answer 1: (-infinity,-2)U(0,infinity)
How does the fraction one-seventh relate to the two inequalities? What were the instructions for the exercise? What are you supposed to be doing with the fraction and/or inequalites? How did you arrive at your solution?

problem 2:
2
3
x > 4 or 4x < −24
answer 2:
How does the fraction two-thirds relate to the two inequalities? What were the instructions for the exercise? What are you supposed to be doing with the fraction and/or inequalites? How did you arrive at your solution?

It's impossible to tell whether or not your answers are correct without knowing what the question was!
What was the question? What does "1/7", if that is what you meant, have to do with the problem?

In any case, the inequality x< -1 would be represented in interval notation as (-infinity, -1), not -2. I have to believe that was a typo.

problem 2:
2
3
x > 4 or 4x < −24
answer 2:

thank you!

Again, what was the question? And, here, we can't say if your interval is correct because you haven't shown an answer!

Also, what is the significance of your formatting some of the characters in red, rather than the default black? Thank you. ;)
