Trigonometry identity question

I would sincerely like some help on the following question...

if a sin theta = p - b cos theta and b sin theta = q + a cos theta
show that a squared + b squared = p squared + q squared?

For each equation, get sine and cosine together on one side.

Square each equation.

Add the results. Simplify.
