Hi all,

I am working through an assignment on trigonometric functions/special triangles/radian measure etc. I was away for the majority of the lessons, so I am running on mostly self taught material, so I was hoping to post some of my work here to make sure I'm on the right track.

What is the average rate of change for the function y = 4sinx - 7 on the interval π ≤ x ≤

No decimals allowed.

So this is what I have... How do my substitutions for sin look using special triangles? Any other mistakes?

You have made errors in evaluating the sine function at the given values:

\(\displaystyle \sin(\pi)=0\)

\(\displaystyle \sin\left(\dfrac{4\pi}{3} \right)=-\dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{2}\)

Never mind. I see what the problem is.... Thank you

Yes, although I would choose to express this as:

\(\displaystyle -\dfrac{6\sqrt{3}}{\pi}\)
