Trick Math Question

This is a trick question. I think the answer is 12 but I am up for suggestions.

Mark built a log fort in the hape of a square. He used 6 vertical posts on each side of his fort. How many posts did he use?? Draw a pic
 
Sorry. That would fall down in a light breeze.

Draw a square.
Put a post at each corner.
How many more do you have to add on each side to make six on each side?

Did you even try to "draw a pic"?
