The position s(t) of an object moving along a straight line is given. Find object's velocity and acceleration and all times where acceleration is 0.

s(t) = 2t^4 - 5t^3 + t - 3

velocity s'(t) = 8t^3 - 15t^2 + 1
acceleration s"(t) = 24t^2 - 30t

0 = 24t^2 - 30t
0 = 6t(4t - 5)
0 = t
0 = 4t - 5
5 = 4t
5/4 = t

Hmmm....could I get some reassurance on that last part?

You never learned to check your answers?

24*0^2 - 30*0 = 24*0 - 0 = 0 - 0 = 0

24*(5/4)^2 - 30*(5/4) = 24*(25/16) - (75/2) = 75/2 - 75/2 = 0

Looks pretty good. Why do you doubt?
