I have to re-arrange "m=k√a(1-x) to show "x" as the subject. The answer is "x=1-1/a(m/k)2. I can't fathom out how to get to that answer. Can you help me, please?
 
I'm not completely sure what you mean to write, but I think it is: \(\displaystyle m=k\sqrt{a(1-x)}\). To start:

1) Divide both sides by k.
2) Square both sides.
3) Divide both sides by a.

See what to do after this?
