need help! if a train is leaving washington d.c at noon for charleston s.c., a distance of 500 miles, and is traveling at a speed of 60 mph and another train leaves charleston at 1 pm at a speed of 50 mph for washington d.c. , how long after the train leaves charleston will the trains pass each other distance = rate x time but i have no idea where to go from here! train one will arrive 8:20 and train 2 will arrive at 11 pm thats as far as i can get. what equation will solve this?

When train leaves Charleston at 1 pm, other train will have travelled 60 miles;
so at 1 pm, the trains are 500-60 = 440 miles apart.

Trains travel at combined speed of 60+50 = 110 mph;
440 / 110 = 4 : kapish?
