Hi, I just got two problems from my little brother in 9th grade geometry.
Strange thing is, being in college and even after passing calculus (though I'm not a math major), I cant seem to figure these problems out.
I've tried thinking it out from different perspectives of Pythagorean and basic 1/2 base times height, and the trapezoid formulas, but I cant seem to get it.
Like for the first one for some reason I cant seem to make any connections by solving it with at one variable at a time or through the use substitution...
Can anyone help out, because I too would like to solve them out of personal curiosity
