total differentail practice Q for final

This came up in a practice problem:


Find total differential of z=1/2(e^(x^2 + y^2) e^(x^2 - y^2)

Next time, try resizing your picture. It's monstrous. It is 3857 by 4332 pixels.

The total differential is:

\(\displaystyle \L\\dz=f_{x}(x,y)dx+f_{y}(x,y)dy\)

\(\displaystyle \L\\z=\frac{1}{2}(e^{2x^{2}})\)

\(\displaystyle \L\\dz=2xe^{2x^{2}}+0\)
